About
Rev. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu has attained towering feats, outstanding milestones and sterling records in public service as through her illustrious career served as ;
A Teacher with the Holy Child Secondary School, Marian Hill and Government Science School, Main Avenue, Calabar, in 1998-2000.
She was promoted to the rank of The Executive Secretary Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB) between 2000-2002.
Her vast experience as a seasoned Administrator from the State service, earned her further promotion as, Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), 2002-2011, during this period she served as the transition chairman of the Local Government Area.
After her meritorious service at the Local and State Governments level, she moved to the Federal Civil Service in 2011, with the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) as an Assistant Director of Administration (ADA), she was promoted to the rank of a Deputy General Manager (DGM) in 2016.
Between the year 2019–2021, She rose to the rank of an Acting Director, Administration & Finance (Ag. DAF).
Rev. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu was appointed the Deputy General Manager (DGM) in charge of Planning Research and Statistics, Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) thereafter, she became the General Manager, Administration. A post she held till her retirement.
Rev.Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, has 35 years of unblemished meritorious service record to Nigeria across the three (3) tiers of Government with abounding work experience, verifiable track records from colleagues, subordinates, acquaintances and employers.
Rev. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, shortly after retirement, assumed the exalted office of the First Lady and wife of the Governor of Cross River State on the 29 of May, 2023, following the swearing-in of her Husband, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu as Executive Governor of Cross River State.
She is an ordained Reverend and currently the Vice President of Voice of God Christian Mission Inc.
She is married to Senator Prince Bassey E. Otu, the current Governor of Cross River State and the union is blessed with children.
Rev.Eyoanwan Bassey Otu is the founder of Humanity Without Borders Empowerment Initiative, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) involved with offering humanitarian services that cuts across Quality Health, Education, Social Welfare, Sustainable Livelihood through Agricultural Empowerments and Environmental services to mainly indigent and vulnerable persons across the country.
Part of her laudable interventions includes ; Renovation and state of the art re-equiping of The Nigerian Correctional Service Calabar, (NCS) Clinic for inmates, Provision of Limbs through her “Who Deserves a Limb” project to amputees, Back to School Project for 5,000 school children, Provision of Delivery Kits to 1,000 pregnant Women, Scholarship to medical students, Financial grants for Widows, routine Humanity visits to all Orphanages/Home of the Aged across the State to mention but a few.
Rev. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu is a recipient of several local and international awards, she is a proud recipient of the Arit Fuller Foundations Award, Pakistan Airforce Award,
PENGASSAN Special Award.
In October 2023, The Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, presented the Key to the City of New York to Rev. Eyoanwan Otu, for her life of service to Humanity.
Senator Kelvin S. Parker also honored Rev Otu on behalf of the New York Senate for her commitment to bettering the lives of People With Disabilities (PWDs).
A Proclamation of Honor was also presented to Rev. Otu by the United States House of Representatives through Congresswoman, Yvette D. Clarke, for her many contributions and positive impacts in the global community.
Rev.Eyoanwan Bassey Otu has several travel history to different countries and continents of the world in her course of service and life experience.
